BBC News Channel formerly BBC News 24 is a 24 hour rolling news television channel in the United Kingdom.
The channel launched as BBC News 24 on 9 November 1997 at 5:30pm as part of the BBC's foray into digital domestic television channels, becoming the first 24 hour news channel in the world in television history.
